Camp Odayin is a non profit organization providing camping experiences for children with heart disease. We are seeking counselors and nurses for our Residential Camp in Crosslake, MN. Roundtrip transportation is provided from the Twin Cities.
Cabin Counselors live in a cabin and supervise a group of 7-9 campers, monitor their daily health, and participate in camp activities through coaching, mentoring, and daily interaction with all camp members.
2016 sessions are as follows:
July 11-15 (grades 1-6)
July 18-22 (grades 6-8)
July 25-29 (grades 9-11)
August 1-5 (grades k-1)

Description
Founded in 2001 by Executive Director Sara Meslow, Camp Odayin serves young people impacted by congenital heart disease and their families. The name 'Odayin’ comes from the Ojibwe word for 'heart’.
Residential Camp allows campers in grades 1-11 to enjoy swimming, boating, arts and crafts, volleyball, horseback riding, nature, basketball, and music in a safe, medically-supervised environment during a five day experience.
Family Camp is an opportunity for families with a child with heart disease age birth to 12th grade to come together for fun, education, support and camaraderie. There are two Friday to Sunday sessions hosted in the Midwest.
Winter Camp offers Residential Camp or Day Camp campers who attended the previous summer the chance to reconnect and experience snowshoeing, broomball, and sledding over a three day weekend.
The Moms Retreat is a time for moms of young people with heart disease to connect for support, education and empowerment. The Saturday to Sunday retreat includes meals, lodging, optional spa and yoga activities, and fabulous guest speakers.
Dads Day is a day of outdoor recreation to build camaraderie and connection between dads of children with heart disease.
Ticker Talk is a free, online Camp Odayin meet up for heart kids in grades 1-12. The hour together is a mini camp experience, full of campy-fun and interactive trivia, games, speakers and more.
