The Greer Learning Center of Greenville Literacy Association is looking for volunteers to tutor adults in our adult education program. Students are working towards obtaining their GED.

After observing classes and participating in an volunteer orientation/training workshop, tutors are matched with a student or a group.

Volunteers commit at least 1 to 2 hours of their time each week to working with a small group of students or in a tutor-student pair.

Needed subject areas include reading, writing, math, science, and/or social studies.

Tutors may choose to focus on one subject (for example: offer a reading class or a math class each week), or may choose to teach more than one subject.

Math classes are offered in regular class settings and/or a study lab setting. In a math lab, students work individually on self-paced materials and ask for help and instruction as needed.

Subject materials and additional teaching resources are provided.
