Transportation for older adults to their vital medical appointments is a critical need of Central Ohio residents.Volunteers are needed to assist with recruitment of volunteer drivers, and in addition inform audiences of the services and programs the Red Cross offers.

CTP Outreach Volunteers will:

• Review information, identify audience/potential audience for each event and determine the information that would be of most interest to attendees.
• May prepare display board and collect appropriate materials and return unused materials.
• Proactively greet attendees and initiate conversations about the work and mission of the American Red Cross Community Transportation Program.
• Attend periodic information-sharing sessions at the Red Cross Chapter.

If you have a background in marketing or want to learn more and/or build skills, this might be the opportunity for you! Other qualifications include: * Ability to initiate conversations with individuals from diverse backgrounds/experiences * Ability to work with older adults and persons with disabilities * Excellent verbal communication skills * Positive personal appearance * Able to learn and convey basic information about Red Cross Chapter * Able to provide own reliable transportation * Access to email and telephone preferred * Minimum age: 18 * Time committment varies depending on events and member availability. Events occur during the daytime on weekdays, evening and/or weekends. A typical event may be 2 hours.
