The Chris Elliott Fund for Glioblastoma is looking for experienced volunteers to seek out and solicit monetary grants and corporate sponsorships specific to our fundraising events, including our annual Golf Tournament, Dinner & Auction and Theresa Ledoux-Peterson Tribute Bike Ride.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Meet as needed and communicate regularly with the Sponsorships Chair and/or Executive Director.
  • Research local and national organizations and analyze them to identify likely sponsorship sources.
  • Prepare and submit persuasive letters of inquiry, grant applications and formal sponsorship proposals.
  • Meet face-to-face with potential sponsors as needed OR assist in arranging a meeting between potential sponsors and Sponsorships Chair.
  • Keep in contact via phone and email with potential sponsors during their review of a submitted proposal in order to provide additional supportive materials as necessary.

CEF is currently being acknowledged nationally for funding a portion of the research that has now identified what genes cause Glioblastoma. Please help us with Phase II, which is to fund raise for the purpose of prioritizing these genes so that ultimately, drugs can be developed that will target these genes.

The Chris Elliott Fund is a non-profit organization whose mission is to raise the funds necessary to find a cure for the deadly Glioblastoma and other brain tumors; promote education and awareness of this under-funded disease; provide education and resources for brain cancer patients and their families; and to act as the voice for brain cancer patients who cannot fight for themselves.

About Chris Elliott Fund dba EndBrainCancer Initiative

Location:

Mission Statement

The EndBrainCancer Initiative | Chris Elliott Fund is dedicated to ensuring that all patients diagnosed with brain cancer, a brain tumor, or metastatic disease to the brain have equal access to advanced diagnostics, treatments, specialists and clinical trial participation. We believe that IMMEDIATE ACCESS to these options provides this patient community with the best HOPE for survival and sustained quality of life. We partner with industry, patients, researchers, advocacy groups, medical teams, hospital networks and others to educate patients and their caregivers so they can have empowered conversations with medical teams.

Description

The End Brain Cancer Initiative (EBCI), formerly the Chris Elliott Fund, has spent over 20 years working to support and guide patients and their caregivers through their medical journey after a diagnosis of Brain Cancer, a Brain Tumor, or Metastatic Disease to the Brain.

Glioblastoma (GBM) is the most common and aggressive form of adult brain cancer. Diagnosed patients have an average prognosis of 12-15 months with the current Standard of Care. Only about 5% of GBM patients will survive more than 5 years, a statistic that has not moved in over 50 years. We aim to educate patients and their caregivers on all forms of available treatment, including clinical trials. We believe that a fully informed patient can have a stronger conversation with their medical team and thereby gain access to better treatments. We hope that this will lead to improved survivorship and a better quality of life overall.

EBCI supports their mission through 3 service programs:

  • Patient Disease Education, Awareness and Outreach programs and events
  • Advocacy and Access Initiatives
  • "Direct Connect" Service Program

Our Patient Disease Education programs occur several times per year, sharing information on the latest developments in treatments, both drug and device, and in advanced diagnostic tools through our website, disease education materials, social media/digital services, speaking opportunities, and customized 1:1 virtual/in person meetings with patients/caregivers.
