SEPTEMBER thru MAY Opportunity
As a School Age or Youth Tutor, you devote your expertise and guidance each week to help children and youth improve academic skills and performance. An emphasis is placed on expanding knowledge by giving one-on-one attention to your students and individualized support to help overcome academic challenges the students may be facing.
Purpose: To provide weekly homework assistance and tutoring for school age children, ages 6-10 or teenagers, ages 10 - 18.
School Age Program serves children, ages 6 through 12, offering effective and comprehensive programming for children from kindergarten through the 6th grade. The focus is to foster positive development in school age children through the areas of fine arts, literature, computers, math and science, games, and sports. Long-term projects, cultural exploration, and leadership development are also highlighted areas of learning.
Youth Alternatives Program (YAP) is an after school and evening program for community youth, ages 10 through 18. YAP provides educational support, personal development, mentoring, social, and recreational activities for youth. The program creates avenues for youth to develop strengths, talents, leadership skills, a sense of community ownership, and an ethic of service within a supportive, yet challenging environment.
