Description

The volunteer mentor is asked to make a one year committment to work with a pregnant or parenting woman on a weekly basis. The mentor serves as an advocate and trusted friend. She helps the mom establish educational and career goals, models positive parenting, and works with the mom on nutrtion and household budgeting issues.

Mentors must complete a 5 hour training session and background checks.

Skills

Volunteer mentors have a desire to work one on one with a woman in need and her family. They serve in a loving and caring manner, in a non-judgmental capacity.
