Are you a dog lover with the ability to look after a dog in your home in the evenings and on the weekend? This could be the perfect role for you! As a training dog host home, you'll be giving a dog in training a loving home while they embark on their journey to become a guide dog. You'll get to see the progress your furry companion is making in their training and be a vital part of their journey, without the commitment of looking after a dog full-time.
What's Involved?
-Commit to a dog in training for their training cycle of 3-4 months. Note: We can accommodate alternative plans for the dog during emergencies or vacations.
-Doing the 'school run' for the dog in training! This will involve dropping them off & picking them up at an agreed time & place Monday - Friday with the dog's trainer.
-Caring for the dog in your home (i.e. feeding & grooming them) when they're not with their trainer.
-Helping the dog keep up with their training by reinforcing the techniques we share with you at home.
-Making sure our dog is not left alone for more than four hours in a 24-hour period.
