Volunteer tutors and classroom aides are needed to help adult students improve their writing, math (high school level algebra), and/or science (into level biology and chemistry), in order to graduate from high school. We provide materials and support.
Tutors will work with students in weekly group tutoring sessions, focusing primarily on their homework assignments from class.
Requirements:
- A strong foundation and understanding of basic grammar, reading comprehension, and writing skills; and/or basic high school math curriculum ( basic algebra, including decimals and fractions); and/or high school biology (familiarity with key science concepts and strong scientific literacy).
- Patience! And comfort with the appropriate subject matter.
- Ability to coach and instruct students rather than do the work for them.
