The American Cancer Society's Reach to Recovery is a free program offered to breast cancer patients. The Reach to Recovery volunteer offers comfort and help in making informed decisions. Volunteers assist by providing an opportunity for a person with breast cancer to express feelings, verbalize fears and concerns. A patient and volunteer may meet face to face or by telephone. Volunteers have the flexibility to work from home, or wherever they have access to a phone. Volunteers are trained by the American Cancer Society to provide support and up-to-date information, including literature for spouses, partners, children, friends and other loved ones. We are looking for volunteers who are breast cancer survivors and have emotionally and physically adjusted to their cancer experience.
