Kids are Struggling with Reading - You can be a fantastic tutor!

All you need is a caring heart and a desire to empower a child to learn! If you’re 50 or older, and you want to make a real and lasting impact on the life of a child you could be the volunteer we’re looking for!

Tutors receive all the training, materials, and regular coaching required to help an early elementary school student gain the confidence and reading skills needed to be successful in elementary school, middle school, and beyond. No prior experience is necessary, and we make it easy!

Many of our tutors match up with more than one student. Each session is 1:1 for 30 minutes, and sessions are twice a week. In time, you will build a trusting relationship and serve as a role model for your students as you help them to build their literacy skills.

If you can make a real commitment to a student, you can make a real difference in their life!

Experience Corps - Greater New Haven is a program of the Agency on Aging of South Central Connecticut.
