Description
- Do you like to help others with crafts, music, games and other social functions?
Are you comfortable talking to the elderly, telling stories, and making people laugh?
If you answered yes to any of the above we have a very rewarding position for you.
The participants attending the Alzheimer's Day Program are talkative, interested and not reserved. In the Day Program you will find individuals with early and mid-stages of Alzheimer's disease (confused and some memory loss)
Responsibilities would include:
- Escort participants to and from meals & programs
- Spend time talking with the participants
- Assist staff with program activities, i.e. games and/or crafts
- Greet participants at the door when needed
Skills
- Activity Assistant: Be warm and caring and able to "go with the flow." Ability to relate to people who are confused or have memory loss. * Naturally a warm, caring and flexible individual * Ability to communicate with people who are confused or have memory loss * (optional)Play a musical instrument for a sign-a-long, dancing or entertain in any way.
