Comprehensive Community Based Health Care Network, is seeking Community HealthCorps applicants for its Community Based Health Centers, which are located in Manhattan. Community HealthCorps is an AmeriCorps program of the National Association of Community Health Centers, Inc, (NACHC) that promotes health care for America's underserved, while developing tomorrow's health care workforce. The incumbents will be assigned to implement a major tasks/project for the respective health center site, and the assignment may include conducting outreach to the community to increase access to health care; health education and support services; recruitment and developing volunteer programs for the Centers, as well as other important activities and projects. Applicant must posses a high school diploma or GED (or commitment to obtaining one during service year); be a United States citizen or have United States national or lawful permanent resident status ; be at least 17 years of age; and a strong commitment to service. Applicant must be an energetic self-starter who is task oriented and a team player. Benefits are: extensive training and professional development; modest taxable living allowance; tuition award; health insurance-if applicable; child care-if applicable; and loan deferment on qualified student loans.
