Busy during the school year, volunteer during the summer. Several opportunities are available for high school students completing community service projects. 1) Volunteer Chore Services helps low-income elders and disabled adults with housework and/or yard work. Locations through out Pierce County. 2) Help prepare and serve meals to the homeless at the Hospitality Kitchen in Tacoma. 3) Read to children and monitor play group activities at the Kid's Place Early Learning Center in Tacoma.

Description

Volunteer Services provides low-income adults (anyone 18 years old or older) who have temporary or permanent functional disabilities, including those associated with aging. The people we serve can not afford to purchase the kinds of service we provide, do not qualify for assistance from other sources and do not have family or friends available to help them. Service is provided on an as-volunteers-are-available basis. There are never any fees for the services provided.
