Have you ever moved to a new town, knew no one, and you were lonely for a familiar face or voice? Then you know what it is like to be in a nursing home with no visitors,no friends only the staff.
Being a Direct Patient Volunteer is making a difference in the life of a terminally ill patient through reading poems, books or playing music. Maybe singing hymns, preparing a patient's favorite food, reminiscing about "old" times, or just sitting quietly and listening. To listen is valuable for them and for you the volunteer.
We also need volunteers to help in the office and at special events. Indirect Pt care is Administrative duties. Helping with Crafts,Holidays,extra projects for the community (ex.:Cancer walk,Food drives).
