Main Space

The set designer works closely with the director to create a look that conveys the director's vision while also accommodating the needs of the space and the cast. Once the design is created, staff are available to help with construction of the set.

The Bellevue Youth Theatre is an arena black-box theatre, which allows for some very unique design opportunities and experiences. Our casts are made up of children from the community, mostly ranging in age from 8-17 years old, although we accept all ages. Our set designs need to account for casts of about 30-40 actors, some in wheelchairs.

We run 11 shows a year, with varying process lengths. We are looking for theatre designers with set construction experience. As we are a community theatre a $300 stipend is available for professionals.
