Canteen Host/Hostess Volunteer Description Purpose
To greet donors and serve refreshments while monitoring post donation reactions. While visiting with donors, volunteers are asked to promote the American Red Cross of Ottawa County by discussing opportunities to volunteer and inviting individuals back for future blood donations.

Provide donors with "Be Nice to ME" stickers with date of the next time they can donate
Clear used plates, cups, etc and leave area clean and tidy
Thank donors for their donation
NEVER leave refreshment area unattended unless you speak with a head nurse
Who you Report to at Blood Drives
Head Nurse (make sure you have met the head nurse before your shift)
Blood Services Coordinator provides on-site training
