Description
A Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) is a trained citizen volunteer who is appointed by a judge to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children in court.
CASA volunteers visit the children in their homes at least once a month, or more if needed. They act as the "eyes and ears" of the Judge, while being the voice for children in court. CASA volunteers truly make a difference. A CASA volunteer helps a child find a permanent home, provides a supportive relationship while the child "is in the system" and helps prevent foster care drift.

Skills
We are looking for adults age 21 and over, who care about children. Additional characteristics that are important:
- Good communication skills
- Commitment to the child for at least one year or until the child achieves a permanent home.
- Independence and objectivity.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with others in the social and legal systems.
