Genesis Joy House Homeless Shelter, Inc. is actively seeking passionate, diverse, and experienced board members to help guide our organization as it grows.

Our mission is to facilitate social change and empower our veterans and community by providing transitional housing, empowerment programs, and counseling services to improve quality of life.

Our programs help homeless female veterans and the general public meet their immediate needs while we work together to find them permanent careers and housing. Genesis is a hand up - not a hand out - and extends dignity and self-determination to the lives of those who often have few other legitimate incoming-earning opportunities.

Genesis board members have the privilege of working collaboratively to direct and support a well-established, first-rate organization. Board members are part of a truly cross-class team, which is a rare opportunity in a world usually segregated by income disparities. The board is made up of current and former military personnel as well as community members and professionals who come together to make policies and provide strategic direction and oversight. Must be willing to contribute $1,000 annually and serve a two year term ($88 per month).

Email genesisjoyhouse@gmail.com to receive a board application packet.
