KYRS-Thin Air Community Radio seeks a Volunteer Coordinator. This is a volunteer position, 2-5 hours per week. Coordinate KYRS' many volunteers with the needs of the organization.
Assist in the creation of meaningful and productive roles in which volunteers may serve and in the recruitment of volunteers from the community.
Provide a central coordinating point for effective volunteer management within the station, and assist staff and volunteer efforts to jointly provide beneficial outcomes.
Encourage underserved/foreign language/multi-ethnic groups for volunteer involvement.
KYRS uses dozens of volunteers each year to staff our information tables at community events, put up flyers, help in the music library, etc. You would help recruit and organize volunteers for these jobs and more.

KYRS Thin Air Community Radio fills needs that other media do not, providing programming to diverse communities and unserved or underserved groups. Thin Air Radio provides a forum for neglected perspectives and discussions on important local, national and global issues, reflecting values of peace, social, economic and environmental justice, human rights, democracy, multiculturalism, freedom of expression and social change. Thin Air's arts, cultural, and music programming covers a wide spectrum of expression from traditional to experimental and reflects the diverse cultures Thin Air serves. Thin Air Radio strives for spontaneity and program excellence, both in content and technique.
Description
Thin Air Community Radio is run almost entirely by volunteers from the community, people like you who have a passion for independent music and ideas. All locally produced programs are hosted by volunteers.
