Docents welcome and inform visitors.

Courts touch everyone's lives, and you can help people understand the role and powers of state courts. Tour guides (docents) lead visitors through interactive exhibits and the Michigan Supreme Court courtroom.

Apply today! https://courts.michigan.gov/volunteer.

Tours last 60-90 min and are scheduled Mon-Fri, 9am to 4pm. The Center is a popular stop on the "Lansing trip" for many schools, so service is primarily during the school year.

Background checks and orientation sessions are required.

Description

The Michigan Supreme Court Learning Center is a museum-type gallery designed to introduce children and adults to the Michigan court system. The award-winning facility is filled with hands-on exhibits, including a model trial court courtroom. The Learning Center is located at the Michigan Hall of Justice, the headquarters of the state's judicial branch of government.
