The Marshall Street Bookstore sells gently used books for all ages. Located inside the Book ReSort, at 225 N. Marshall Street, it is a busy hub for customers to buy wonderful books at extremely reasonable prices. If you are a strong leader who enjoys mixing with people of all ages, helping customers find the ideal books, using a cash register and credit card machine, and making attractive displays, please consider apply for the Manager position at the Marshall Street Bookstore!

The Manager...

  • Create weekly sales report and as needed maintenance invoices for financial management

  • Coordinate and post monthly volunteer schedule
  • Oversees the appearance and cleanliness of bookstore by notifying appropriate library maintenance personnel when areas need attention.

  • Maintains book back stock, shelves books in appropriate categories, and works with Book ReSort staff to replenish inventory.

  • Works several shifts/month to keep in touch with what customers are buying or looking for in book selection. Has flexibility to assist in covering other shifts as needed.

  • Trains new volunteers.

  • Communicate changes, updates, issues with volunteers.

The ideal candidate will have flexible weekday availability.

This is a big job, and we're willing to have co-managers lead the volunteer team at the Marshall Street Bookstore.

As one of the oldest public libraries in the country, Lancaster Public Library has been providing library service in Lancaster for over 260 years. Lancaster Public Library has two locations in the county including the main branch at 125 N. Duke Street in the City of Lancaster and the Mountville Branch at 120 College Avenue in Mountville.

In addition to basic library services, Lancaster Public Library offers special and unique information services to specific groups of individuals in the community like the Duke Street Business Center, the World Languages Collection, and the Autism Resource Collection.
