Look Good...Feel Better (LGFB) is a free program, designed to help female cancer patients learn how to cope with the appearance-related side effects of chemotherapy and radiation therapy treatments. Volunteers teach participants useful techniques to help restore their appearance and self-esteem through the use of make-up, wigs, scarves and other accessories. LGFB is currently offered in seven locations in hospitals and oncology facilities in Las Vegas and Henderson. Each location hosts the program once a month. Classes are given by volunteer cosmetologists and estheticians. Five of the classes take place in the evening at 6pm-8pm, and two classes take place on Monday mornings. We are looking for estheticians, cosmetologists and hair stylists who are licensed in the state of Nevada to conduct some of the classes. We require volunteers to conduct a minimum of four classes per year. Volunteers must attend a 2-hour LGFB Training at the American Cancer Society office in Las Vegas to learn about all aspects of the program. Look Good...Feel Better is a product-neutral program so promotion of your salon or products you sell is strictly forbidden during the LGFB class. This is a very rewarding position, and due to its level of dedication, we ask for at least a one-year commitment. For more information, visit: www.lookgoodfeelbetter.org.
