The Step Down Unit (SDU) is designed for patients who need a lower level of care than ICU but a higher level of care than Medical/Surgical unit. Med/Surg provides care to adult patients with a wide variety of acute illnesses or who are recovering from surgery. Responsibilities include greeting, transporting and comforting patients, running specimens to the lab, pharmacy runs, preparing admission paperwork, and other tasks to assist the medical staff.

Great opportunity for pre-med and pre-nursing students or recent grads & volunteers planning to transition into the Emergency Department.
