Looking for a one-time volunteer opportunity for the holidays? Volunteer in the Wearhouse individually or with family and friends!
The Wearhouse is our free store where youth in foster care and their caregivers can shop for clothing, books, toys, and other essentials. We need volunteers to sort, tag and hang donations and help us create a welcoming environment full of holiday cheer between November 19, 2014 and January 14, 2015.
Shifts are available from 9:30am - 12:30pm and 1pm - 4pm Monday through Friday, with some Tuesday and Thursday evening shifts available from 4:30pm -7pm. For more information or to schedule a shift, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator at 206.267.5117 or volunteer@treehouseforkids.org.

Mission Statement
Giving Foster Kids a Childhood and a Future We envision - and strive to create - a world where every child that has experienced foster care has the opportunities and support they need to pursue their dreams and become productive members of our community.
Description
Each morning, nearly 10,000 children in foster care in Washington State wake up to unfamiliar surroundings.
In foster care, they are safe from physical harm and dangerous neglect, but they are far from out of the woods socially, emotionally and academically. Trauma and loss, changes in homes and schools, and emotional upheaval cause them to perform worse than their peers on every academic measure.
Treehouse is taking on these challenges with fierce optimism by providing youth in foster care with access to the services they equally deserve to be successful in school and in life.
Treehouse is dedicated to closing the achievement gap between youth in foster care and their peers forever.By providing our students with the academic and other essential support that all kids need to succeed, we’ve watched them become more self-determined and invested in their education than ever before. And despite the challenges our students face in foster care, their graduation rates are on the rise.
