SF CAMERAWORK - CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS
SF Camerawork seeks enthusiastic people to help with the following gallery operations:
Exhibition Installation
Openings
Receptions
Lectures
Portfolio Reviews
Annual fundraising events such as the Portrait Party and Fine Art Print Auction
We are always seeking gallery volunteers. Duties may vary from gallery sitting to librarian work to handling and packaging fine art prints. Plus, you'll have a great time with a hardworking and fun staff. Founded in 1974, SF Camerawork provides a forum for artists and their audiences in which to address the broad social and aesthetic issues surrounding contemporary photography and related media. Camerawork is committed to staging exhibitions of an experimental nature as well as developing an audience for innovative, artistically provocative works while emphasizing the work of emerging artists. It has presented over 370 exhibitions in its twenty-eight years of support and services to local, national, and international photographers and artists. Additionally, Camerawork has produced many exhibition catalogs and a publication, Camerawork: A Journal of Photographic Arts.
Other educational programs and informational services offered are: lectures, workshops, conferences, critique sessions, a reference library, and an active internship program.
