ORGANIZATION: CASA of Kent County

Every abused and neglected child living in foster care needs a voice in court; an advocate to speak up for their best interest. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Kent County empowers community members to be a foster child’s voice and the much-needed consistency a child needs after being removed from their home. A CASA Volunteer is specially trained to build a relationship with a child in foster care; to explore their circumstances; to understand their wishes and to communicate their needs to Family Court Judges. If you have 10-15 hours per month to give to a child, we encourage you to apply. CASA of Kent County is committed to promoting diversity and inclusion so that all children have an equitable chance of returning to or being placed in safe, loving, and stable homes.

Mission Statement

CASA of Kent County provides highly-trained volunteers to advocate in the best interest of abused and neglected children in family court proceedings.

Description

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Kent County is the only local volunteer organization that empowers everyday citizens to become appointed members of the Kent County court system in order to act on behalf of abused or neglected children as they pass through the family court system. There are several ways to get involved in creating real change and opportunity in a child’s life through CASA. We invite you to hear our stories, learn our mission, and join our cause...because sometimes the only difference between a life of pain and anguish and a life of joy and success is YOU.
