This opportunity requires a one-year weekly commitment. Many of the youth who come to us are victims of trauma, abuse, abandonment or neglect. They are left without a family to call their own. Thus, it is extremely important for them to get special adult attention. They need experiences that restore their confidence and trust in adults. Volunteer mentors spend time weekly with an assigned youth doing fun things such as going to the movies, the park, and the library. To display consistency and care, mentors are asked to make a one-year weekly commitment to visit one of the youth.
