The Volunteer Services Intern assists with the full range of volunteer coordination duties at OMSI.
- Assist paid staff with new volunteer intake, including processing applications, scheduling interviews, and performing reference checks.
- Assist paid staff with applicant data entry and tracking using a volunteer management database.
- Assist staff with administrative procedures associated with interviewing and orienting new volunteers.
- Assist with absent volunteer follow up and resignation procedures.
- Assist with recruitment and scheduling of volunteers for special events.
- Assist with planning and implementation of volunteer recognition and appreciation activities.
- Assist with other general administrative duties associated with the volunteer program as assigned.

OMSI’s mission is to inspire curiosity through engaging science learning experiences, foster experimentation and the exchange of ideas, and stimulate informed action. Volunteers support the operation of five exhibit halls and eight science labs and hundreds of interactive exhibits and hands-on demonstrations.

OMSI is an independent non-profit 501(c)(3) organization and relies on admissions, memberships, and donations to continue our educational mission, programs, and exhibits.
All are welcome at OMSI.
