Relay For Life is a community driven event where people partner up with the American Cancer Society in it's fight against cancer. For the next several months you'll have an opportunity to work with people to create, plan and execute ideas while planning the 2014 Relay For Life event. We need lots of volunteers to help in a variety of tasks so if you're not able to commit to volunteering an hour or two of your time for the next several of months, we have lots of other opportunities available.

Mission Statement
The American Cancer Society is the nationwide community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service. The Society is the largest source of private, nonprofit cancer research funds in the United States. The Society's prevention programs focus on tobacco cessation, sun protection, diet and nutrition, comprehensive school health education, early detection, and treatment. A variety of services and programs are available for patients, caregivers, and their families. Through its advocacy program, the Society educates policy makers about cancer and how it affects the individuals and families they represent. Description
The American Cancer Society is people. People like you and me with a common goal of fighting cancer. It's an army of thousands of dedicated volunteers, supported by an equally dedicated professional staff. That Volunteer/Staff Partnership is a very special relationship. As a volunteer driven, grassroots organization, the ACS is composed of volunteers and staff at every level. It is only through that partnership that we can accomplish our goals. You are our strength. Won't you join the fight?
