There's No Place Like Home!

Friends of Upland Animal Shelter is a non-profit organization that is partnered with the City of Upland Animal Services to manage shelter operations and adoptions. There is a year round need for volunteers to help foster kittens and puppies. All types of kittens enter the shelter...newborn kittens, kittens who are older and can eat on their own, kittens with mothers who are nursing them, and expectant mothers ready to give birth. We also occasionally get underage puppies and puppies with mothers who are nursing them.

Fostering is a temporary, short-term commitment...only until the kittens or puppies are old enough to be spayed/neutered and put up for adoption. It can involve bottle-feeding the little ones or just socializing and caring for the ones that have already been weaned. Fostering is done in your home; we supply the animals and food, you supply the love and care!

For more information about fostering kittens and puppies, please visit our Foster web page at https://www.friendsofuplandanimalshelter.org/Foster and consider filling out our online Foster application at https://friendsofuplandanimalshelter.org/Foster-Application.

We need caring, responsible adults interested in the rewarding experience of helping a kitten or puppy transition from homeless into a warm, forever home.

About Friends of Upland Animal Shelter

Location:

1275 San Bernardino Rd, UPLAND, CA 91786, US

Mission Statement

Friends of Upland Animal Shelter was formed solely out of a desire to support the Upland Animal Shelter so that it can provide a high quality of animal care and find homes for as many animals as possible. We have worked in a collaborative manner with the City since our inception and today are honored to operate the sheltering and adoption functions at Upland Animal Shelter on behalf of the City. Despite the challenges associated with an open intake municipal facility that cannot turn animals away, we are dedicated to operating under a "no kill" philosophy that aims to save every shelter pet.

Description

Friends operates the Upland Animal Shelter on behalf of the City of Upland, and also owns and operates 2nd Chance Thrift Shop. Our nonprofit thrift shop sells men's, women's, and children's clothing; shoes; purses; hats; jewelry; bedding; household goods and decor; crafts; books; CD's; DVD's; electronics; sporting goods; artwork; antiques; and furniture. All proceeds from our thrift shop go to support the health and well-being of animals in our care at Upland Animal Shelter.
