Volunteers will assist City staff to create a welcoming and clean environment at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Center located between the Valencia Park and Skyline neighborhoods of City Council District 4!

Activities include; litter abatement, planting and spreading mulch, non-native brush removal, painting tables and curbs.

Help us clean up the recreation center and playground areas!

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Center serves thousands of San Diego's community members throughout the year providing, sports, arts and crafts, homework help, Senior Center activites, park space, a community pool, tennis courts and many other recreational activities and opportunities for community members of all ages! Come out and help us for this one-time event hosted by the Park and Recreation Department during the "City of San Diego Week of Service" to make San Diego a world class city for all!

Shifts from 9:00 a.m.- 11:00a.m. April 27th. Please wear closed toe shoes, long sleeves and pants and proper sun protection. Water and a limited number of work gloves will be provided, if you have your own leather work gloves, please bring them with you!

Park and recreation professionals and volunteers host hundreds of community events each year and provide safe places for thousands of children to go after school. City employees and volunteers take great pride to enrich the lives of others through quality parks and programs, designed and developed so that people of all ages, abilities and income levels have the chance to participate in excellent recreational opportunities.
