Our goal is to help schools - all schools - move forward by re-imagining their purpose,
and creating learning experiences that prepare kids for life in the 21st Century. We make
MLTS available to schools for screenings that bring teachers, parents, and students
together to see the film and engage in thoughtful discussion about the future of their
school and kids. After seeing the film, your community - with help from our website’s
resources - will be inspired to act. During this school year, MLTS’ Executive Producer
Ted Dintersmith is coming to all fifty states, bringing together government officials,
educators, business people, philanthropists, parents, and students. This unprecedented
fifty-state campaign is orchestrated by The Future Project, a fast-growing non-profit
transforming inner-city public schools across the country and with a big vision for
America’s future. With support from a dozen other great partners, we seek to create a
nationwide movement to empower our schools to help every child in America

Description

United Inner City Services (UICS) is a multi-service community based agency that has served the 12th Street downtown Kansas City, Missouri corridor since 1967.

UICS’ core service is our early childhood education program, started in 1972 to meet the urgent needs of neighborhood families. In 2004, in response to a growing demand for high quality early education by welfare to work families, UICS opened the state-of-the-art St. Mark Child and Family Development Center. The Center serves as a neighborhood anchor, providing a safe, warm, and inviting site for a variety of community services, arts programs, and neighborhood outreach.
