Volunteer at Valley Relics!

The Valley Relics Museum is looking for someone to assist with blogging, social media, local history research and other personal assistant tasks. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, resourceful, can easily take and follow direction, and works well with others. Great opportunity to gain real-world experience and earn college credits. Tentative schedule would be 10am-2:30pm Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday. Schedule is flexible.

Skills required:
-Accurate typing, spelling, and grammar
-Fluent in WordPress, Facebook & Instagram
-Proper email etiquette

Tasks:
-Organize and prepare files for web
-Blogging
-Creative writing
-Local history research

Please note, Valley Relics Museum is located in Chatsworth. The volunteer work will take place at our creative space in North Hollywood.

Our endeavor is to collect, preserve, interpret, and present the history of The San Fernando Valley and surrounding areas in order to share with residents and visitors alike the stories of those who shaped the region and its role in the nations development. Valley Relics is a non profit organization 501(c)3.

Description

The Valley Relics Museum boasts a vast collection of historical artifacts pertaining to the San Fernando Valley. The collection includes rare photographs, vintage neon signs, postcards, yearbooks, negatives, books, art, automobiles and bicycles from the Valley's past. Valley Relics is a nonprofit organization 501 (c) 3 with an endeavor to preserve and protect our local history and its artifacts while educating the public on the rich history of the San Fernando Valley.
