Mission Statement

The Art Connection seeks to enrich and educate under-served communities by expanding public access to original works of art.

Description

The Art Connection is a private nonprofit that brings original works of art to people who rarely get to see original artwork. We do this by placing donated artwork in nonprofit and public agencies that serve those in need in communities in the Greater Boston area. We work with artists and collectors who wish to donate some of their artwork. By acting as an art clearinghouse, we simplify the donation process and offer a wide range of original artwork from many different artists for selection by the agencies.

The nonprofit and public agencies that receive artwork donations have very limited or no resources with which to acquire original art. They include community centers, children's programs, YMCAs and YWCAs, schools, shelters for the homeless or battered women, rape crisis centers and housing services which provide a wide range of services. Most of the people served by these agencies would not normally have the opportunity to experience original art in their lives.
