The Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History is looking for multiple volunteer photographers to help the Museum capture today's history on an ongoing basis.

These volunteers will help document the events and programming taking place at the Wright Museum. The images will play an important role in sharing and expanding the impact that our museum has on the community.

The Volunteer Photographers will receive photo credits for their work (when appropriate). The volunteers' photographs will be shared widely via The Wright Museum’s social media outlets, printed materials, broadcast, digital mediums, etc.

The volunteers must have experience as a photographer and present samples of your work for review. You must also have a passion for sharing the work of the Museum with a wide audience.

Responsibilities include:

  • Attending Museum events and programs
  • Taking photographs at events and programs
  • Asking subjects of photographs to sign a release form (when appropriate)
  • Sharing photographs with The Wright’s staff in a timely manner

Marketing and Development departments staff can provide advice and feedback on what types of photographs are most useful to the Museum.

The volunteer must commit to a minimum of 2 hours per week. Assignments may occur during the regular work day, evenings and weekends.
