About Posse: The Posse Foundation, a dynamic youth leadership development and scholarship program, identifies, recruits and selects student leaders from public high schools to form multicultural teams called "Posses." These teams are then prepared through an intensive eight-month Pre-Collegiate Training Program for enrollment at top universities nationwide to pursue higher education and to help promote cross-cultural communication on campus. The Posse Program has demonstrated great success over the past twenty years, placing 6,993 students at top colleges and universities. Since 1989, Posse Scholars have won over $932 million in scholarships from Posse partner universities and are persisting and graduating at 90% -- higher than the national averages at top institutions of higher education. In 2019, the Posse Program in Miami received over 1,400 nominations, selecting 60 students to receive over six million dollars in scholarships to Syracuse University, Franklin and Marshall College, Mount Holyoke College, Pomona College, Davidson College, and Hamilton College.
Volunteer Description:
