The Children's Book Project is looking for an experienced grant writer to help us seek new grants which will enable us to continue getting books into the hands of children that need them. We would like help researching and applying for grants that apply to literacy, education, and children. This is a very flexible opportunity, and much of the work can be done virtually. We would like to have occasional onsite meetings since this work would be done in collaboration with our staff.

Mission Statement
Children's Book Project gives free books to children who need them for equity in literacy, learning, and life.
Description
Since 1992, Children's Book Project has given away over 3.16 million books to Title 1 schools, public health clinics, shelters, public housing, community organizations, and others serving hundreds of thousands of under-resourced children throughout 35 California counties. Educators, caseworkers, and community service providers visit our Book Bank in San Francisco year-round to select the free books they need for the children they serve.
Literacy attainment is directly tied to academic achievement and lifetime outcomes, yet children in economically disadvantaged communities do not have the same access to books as their more affluent peers. Children’s Book Project is committed to closing the opportunity gap and lifting up our community by raising readers.
