The Walk to Defeat ALS(r) is The ALS Association's national signature event. Each year, over 8,000 people, including those living with ALS, their caregivers, family and friends, and corporations across North Carolina, join together to raise funds in support of community-based patient services programs and nationally driven cutting-edge research.
The Greensboro Walk to Defeat ALS(r) is made possible by the passion and dedication of volunteers. Opportunities for Walk Day include: Set-up, Registration, Distributing T-Shirts, Handing out Water & Snacks, Greeting Participants, Clean-up, Cheering, and much more! Many opportunities are perfect for groups and we are happy to verify volunteer service hours.
Please contact Avery (avery@alsnc.org) with interest or questions.

Mission Statement
To discover treatments and a cure for ALS, and to serve, advocate for, and empower people affected by ALS to live their lives to the fullest.
Description
The ALS Association is the only national not-for-profit health organization dedicated solely to the fight against ALS. ALSA covers all the bases -- research, patient and community services, public education, and advocacy -- in providing help and hope to those facing the disease.
The ALS Association (National Office and the North Carolina Chapter) operates under a shared mission: To discover treatments and a cure for ALS, and to serve, advocate for, and empower people affected by ALS to live their lives to the fullest.
We work together to accomplish our mission. The ALS Association North Carolina Chapter focuses primarily on helping local patients and families live with ALS while the National Office focuses primarily on research and advocacy. The Chapter supports the National Office through revenue sharing and research contributions. The National Office supports the Chapters by providing up-to-date information and materials.
Our accomplishments are made possible by the generosity of others. From the smallest donation to the largest gift, donors touch the ALS community with hope for the future.
