ORGANIZATION: Junior Achievement of Northern California

Volunteers are needed for multiple classrooms at Mt. Diablo High School's Sustainable Hospitality Academy/Pathway. This is the first year of a partnership with the school and a sequence of Junior Achievement programs has been laid out for the sophomore through senior classes. Program content ranges from topics on entrepreneurship, career and skills planning, and personal finance management. A one hour volunteer training and all necessary teaching materials are provided prior to the first time in the classroom. Class periods and weekdays vary. Total time commtment is maximum one hour a week over seven weeks in the classroom and approximately seven hours of material preparation. Volunteers may serve with a spouse, colleague, or friend to pair up and serve a class or split the seven visits.

Spanish speaking and hospitality industry volunteers strongly encouraged to sign up!

Junior Achievement of Northern California (JA) achieves this mission through teaching students about their expanding roles as individuals, consumers, employees, employers, and productive members of our society.
