Want to meet people from all over the world as well as help your local community? From gardening and special events to hostel operations and museum tours, we have something available to fit anyone's schedule or interests with opportunities available 24-hours a day, every day of the week! Even overnight sleepovers are possible!
HI Little Rock Firehouse Hostel & Museum is a 36-bed hostel in MacArthur Park in downtown Little Rock that provides safe and affordable housing for travelers as well as doubles as a museum of firefighting history and memorabilia that promotes fire safety. Our building was originally old Little Rock Fire Station 2 and is now open as the first non-profit hostel in Arkansas.
Our next volunteer meeting is Thursday, February 9th. We'll provide you with a brief history of the building, our non-profit (Hostelling Arkansas), a tour of the hostel and museum, and more info on all opportunities we currently have available. For more information, call us at (501) 476-0294, email info@firehousehostel.org, or sign up to attend here: http://firehousehostel.org/index.php/volunteer/

Mission Statement
"To provide a sharing environment where cultures blend in learning about ourselves and the history of firefighting within the walls of a hostel."
Description
Hostels are based on the concept that building community helps to dispel prejudice and increase appreciation of cultural diversity which in turn leads to world peace through travel. When you stay in a hostel you’re meeting people from other places whether it’s another city or another country. You’re sharing travel tips over breakfast, and discussing world views from various perspectives. Hostelling helps one to be a traveler, not a tourist.
In the words of Andrew Zimmern, "Please be a traveler, not a tourist. Try new things, meet new people, and look beyond what’s right in front of you. Those are the keys to understanding this amazing world we live in."
HI Little Rock Firehouse Hostel & Museum is bringing the world to Little Rock, and we could use your help in spreading the mission of world peace through travel at local events and festivals.
