WHAT: Youth friendly volunteers are needed to count and survey homeless youth ages 24 and under living on the streets within their communities. Every volunteer that will be assisting in the youth count, MUST complete the online volunteer registration, and will be trained prior to administering the survey. Registered and trained volunteers will be assigned times and locations.

WHEN: The count and survey will take place over a period of 4 days beginning Tuesday, January 29th, 2018 through Friday, February 1st, 2018.

WHY: Information collected from the count and survey is required to continue receiving federal funding for homeless programs, to develop strategies to end youth homelessness, and to help homeless children and families who are in need.

Operation SafeHouse, with community support, provides emergency shelter, intervention and outreach services to runaway, homeless, and other youth in crisis. SafeHouse Offers youth positive alternatives to becoming victims of the streets.

Description

We are a shelter for youth at risk, in crisis, or a runaway. SafeHouse of the Desert will provide a critical alternative to young people whose lives are in turmoil. We have a 3 or 4 week program. Our 4 week program is our drug and alcohol program. Our goal is to keep the family unit together.

Age range is from 11 to 17.
