Mission Statement
CP-CONNECTIONS
Family-School-Business-Community united to enhance educational opportunities, extra-curricular programs and promote student achievement by advancing communications and coordinating volunteers and supporters throughout the Comstock Park Public Schools District.
Description
Dear Volunteer,
The Comstock Park Public Schools (CPPS) District is proud to introduce CP-CONNECTIONS Family-School-Business-Community united to enhance educational opportunities, extra-curricular programs and promote student achievement by advancing communications and coordinating volunteers and supporters throughout the Comstock Park Public Schools (CPPS) District.
The number one reason people give for not volunteering is that they have never been asked. We are now asking community members to support the CPPS-District by volunteering to coordinate, participate and/or sponsor educational enhancement and extra curricular programs, fundraising efforts and other school enrichment events.
There are volunteer opportunities for everyone! Please consider: working with students on an individual bases or in a classroom setting, providing clerical work in a district office, leading a fundraising effort or consider working on decision-making advisory committees if you are interested in school improvement efforts. There are needs for volunteers during school hours, evening, weekends and work at home opportunities. There are virtual opportunities for translators to translate via webcams, by phone, or written document via e-mail.
Community members and senior citizens are welcome in our schools. You do not need to have children in our schools to volunteer. For the safety of our students and staff all CPPS-District volunteers are now being asked to complete a Volunteer Consent Form, to check backgrounds. Volunteer Consent Form can be picked up and returned to any school office. Community members who want to help promote effective school improvement and support high student achievement are encouraged to explore the many volunteer opportunities within the CPPS District.
Students in the district who want to make a contribution to our schools or the community at large are also encouraged to explore the many available opportunities. We want all of are students to understand the value of helping others. Younger student will have community service opportunities presented in their classrooms or school buildings (i.e. Toys-for-Tots, Valentines for Vets, Student Service Corps, etc.)
CP-CONNECTIONS is designed to benefit and grow every established CPPS-District, volunteer organization by matching volunteers to organizations or individuals in need. But it is also designed to promote new opportunities, so if a creative individual just doesn't connect to a conventional program, they can give us a call and we'll help them develop a new one.
The CP-CONNECTIONS E-Newsletter was developed to help improve district wide communications. When you sign up for the CP-CONNECTIONS E-Newsletter you will receive e-mailed:
