  • 2 people are interested

The Access Support Network remains the sole community-based, non-profit organization in San Luis Obispo County that provides supportive services to residents living with HIV/AIDS and Hep C and their loved ones.

We are seeking adults to transport clients to and from appointments and other important errands. Valid driver's license and automobile insurance required. The ideal candidate is willing to be on-call a few days per week to drive throughout SLO County and enjoys meeting new people! This is a very occasional, as-needed position. It will likely require less than 10 hours per month. Must reside in San Luis Obispo County or northern Santa Barbara County.

For more information on how to get involved please contact Adriana Chiquete at achiquete@asn.org or (619)549-1424

About Access Support Network

Location:

1320 Nipomo St., San Luis Obispo, CA 93401, US

Mission Statement

Access Support Network saves and enhances the lives of people in our community impacted by HIV and Hep C. We provide access to comprehensive critical services that empower our clients.

Description

In 1984, the founders of the Access Support Network (ASN) witnessed an urgent need in the community to provide advocacy and support for people living with HIV/AIDS. From that point on, the ASN has grown and adapted to the unique needs of the community. In 2001, the SLO Hep C Project was developed, offering support for community members living with hepatitis C, and, in 2014, the ASN became the first Covered California-certified enrollment entity in San Luis Obispo, helping to ensure that the community had access to affordable health insurance programs. That is one of the ASN’s most basic principles: to strive to meet the unmet needs of our surrounding communities.

The ASN remains the sole community based, non-profit organization in San Luis Obispo and Monterey Counties that provides supportive services to residents living with HIV/AIDS and Hep C and their loved ones. The agency strives to improve the quality of life and independence of its clients by providing support on an individual basis.
