Thanks to all the wonderful folks who donated to our Fall/Winter Crowdfunding campaign, we were able to purchase a much needed shed to keep our valuable tools safe! Now we need your help painting it!
Come out on January 16th from 12p-3pm and get your painting on!
Make sure to wear warm clothes you don't mind getting dirty!
If enough people show up we'll start digging the foundation for Philadelphia's first Passive Solar Greenhouse!
Urbanstead's Francisville Urban Farm is located at the gate next to 1729 Wylie St. Call 215-873-3483 if you have trouble finding us!

About Urbanstead
Location:
1708 Ridge Avenue, Philadelphia, PA, Philadelphia, PA 19130, US
Mission Statement
Urbanstead works to develop leadership and career skills in urban agriculture with young people in Philadelphia and are dedicated to empowering our neighborhoods with the knowledge and skills to affect change toward more sustainable communities.
Description
Urbanstead started because we believe engaging young people in the experience of urban farming is one of the best ways to create healthy futures and to experience lessons that can be applied to many aspects of their lives. Our gardens are safe spaces to work, learn, and grow. We currently operate the Francisville Urban Farm and Orchard in North Philadelphia. The two main programs that encapsulate Urbanstead are Youth Plots, which is an all-ages hands-on urban farming experience, and Seedscapes, which works with young people ages 16-22 to improve self-confidence and personal management skills while also increasing access to healthy food option
