LVGW provides training and continued support for tutors.
Basic Literacy Tutors assist adults who speak English but require additional help with reading and writing skills. ESL Tutors provide English language instruction to adults who are not native speakers of English.
The LVGW office is located in downtown Waterbury, but tutors and students may meet at a mutually convenient time in a public place throughout the greater Waterbury area. In addition to local libraries, many tutors and students meet at bookstores, coffee shops, churches, museums, etc.
The need for tutors is great. Nearly 50 students are currently waiting to be matched with a tutor.

Description
Through the effective use of trained volunteer tutors, LVGW provides educational services to willing adults in the greater Waterbury community free of charge. Our tutors provide one-on-one or small group instruction at mutually convenient times in public places. Basic Literacy, English as a Second Language, and U.S Citizenship test preparation services are offered.
