Friendly, helpful volunteer receptionist needed to answer phones and greet families at our nonprofit center in Sterling Heights. Play-Place for Autistic Children near 18 Mile and Mound is looking for someone to commit to one day a week (or as often as possible) to help us out. Join our friendly team and help us provide a warm, inviting, fun place for children and families affected by autism and other special needs challenges. This is a very easy but important opportunity. We will provide any training needed. Please join us for a very rewarding time!

You will need to attend Volunteer Training before beginning to volunteer. Please arrive to training 15 minutes early to complete a short volunteer application. You will also need to bring your picture identification (Driver's License, Student ID, Passport, State ID) for background check purposes.

Description
Our 17,000 square foot, one-of-a-kind facility, consists of a computer cafe for interactive academic skill building & communication; an "Art of Autism" Art Studio for creative expression, art therapy, peer relationship building and self-esteem enrichment; music and movement activities, a Haircut Hut for a soothing, grooming experience; a Bistro/coffee shop for that "me-too" conversation, sharing & a chance to exhale; and much more!
