Are you looking for a way to give back to your community this holiday season?
ECHO (El Camino Homeless Organization) provides shelter for some of the homeless men, women, and children in SLO County 365 nights a year. The Summer season is a difficult time to recruit volunteers, with many people out of town and students gone for Summer break. Please consider helping ECHO this Summer as we continue to provide services to those in our county who need it the most!
At least two volunteers must stay overnight with the guests as chaperones to help supervise the evening. The shift is 5:00pm - 7:00am. Upon arrival you will go through training with an experienced volunteer. Chaperones take turns taking sleeping shifts during the night, with one chaperone awake at all times.
This volunteer position is unique among organizations because it provides the chance to get to know our guests in a personal way. It also provides the option of serving with someone you know in a quiet and family-like setting.
If you have any questions or want to sign up, please contact Mimi Rodriguez at 805.462.7527 or echo.chaperones@gmail.com.
