This January, the Albany Public Library Foundation will be conducting an internal Website Audit of all pages related to APL fundraising.
This includes the Foundation homepage -- http://albanypubliclibraryfoundation.org/ -- as well as the donation info on the APL page -- http://www.albanypubliclibrary.org/about/ and Friends of APL page -- http://aplfriends.blogspot.com/.
This will be an general health audit, with a focus on facilitating online donations and expanding our mailing list. Volunteers will basically read through all the pages of the website, test links, and provide feedback on whether the message on pages is clear and if links and actions work correctly.
We will be using automated tools to audit our Search Engine Optimization. If you are experienced with SEO, that's a plus. Please mention that when you write.
Come in for 2 hours, 4 hours, or come in for a 1-hour meeting and then keep reading at home.

Mission Statement
The Friends & Foundation of APL provides critical financial support to the Albany (NY) Public Library in order to help the Library provide education, literacy, career development, cultural enrichment and lifelong learning. (In February 2020, the Albany Public Library Foundation merged with the Friends of Albany Public Library.)
Description
The FFAPL’s purpose is to
- Benefit, promote, support, encourage and generally enhance the programs and facilities of the Albany Public Library
- Provide financial assistance and support for specific Library programs and projects, and
- Assist the Library Board of Trustees in making its programs and facilities more valuable to the community.
The FFAPL is functionally integrated with the Albany Public Library.
