The Museum of Maritime Navigationand Communication (MMNC) is looking for vibrant skilled volunteers to help with various parts of its operation. MMNC has been open to the public since 2011 on a storefront location alongBay Street. MMNC has availability for all fields of operation for any standard not for profit. MMNC is funded by the city annually through the New York City Council Discretionary funding as well as various foundation grants.
MMNC is looking for individuals who are interested in learning more about not for profits as well as individuals looking to strengthen there skills. MMNC has administrative office duties available including answering phones scheduling appointments filing as well as working on our filing system transition to paperless through the use of a web database. Financial based positions include working with QuickBooks, researching and applying for grants. It is also available to work with program and project designs for exhibits, one day events and designs that can be used for various grant plans.

Welcome to Museum of Maritime Navigation and Communication! The Museum of Maritime Navigation and Communication is dedicated to the preservation of marine electronic equipment and local maritime history. Through our programs we strive to stimulate the interests of children and adults in our community and encourage the study, understanding, and appreciation of the subjects represented by our collections.
Description
The Museum of Maritime Navigation and Communication is a unique one of a kind educational experience. All pieces have been donated to the museum by the Chairman of the Board who had a amassed a large collection during his time as a maritime eceltronics repairman for the various ships that ported along Staten Island. Many of the pieces are in functionaing order with various information about there make and original use.
