Citizens’ Climate Lobby (CCL) wants you! As a group leader, you will help launch and sustain a chapter in the southern suburbs of the metro Denver area. This will be an opportunity to use your creativity and passion for nurturing citizen engagement while slowing the effects of climate change. You will have the opportunity to develop or maintain your managerial, marketing, facilitation and interpersonal skills. Together we can protect our beautiful ecosystems, livelihoods and way of life. Who are CCL group leaders?
People from all walks of life who understand the urgency of the climate change problem, who appreciate that national policy decisions are a critical part of getting to a path to lowered CO2 emissions, and who value a nonpartisan approach to citizen engagement and climate solutions.
What does the position involve?
- A willingness to help build and lead a local group. Groups Leaders can be individuals, co-leaders or a leadership team.
- Set up the local monthly meeting, usually on the second Saturday of each month.
What are CCL’s core activities?
Taking action to create political will, specifically moving Congress in the direction of passing climate legislation. To accomplish this, we engage in these core activities:
1. Lobbying members of Congress and their staff
2. Publishing letters to the Editor and op-eds
3. Grassroots outreach (tabling and presentations)
4. Seeking endorsements from community leaders
5. Chapter Development
CCL provides ongoing training for group leaders via national and state level conference calls and state, regional and national conferences. Initial training is provided in person, one-on-one and group settings.

CCL empowers everyday people to work with their community and their members of Congress on climate change solutions. Our supporters cover the political spectrum and work in more than 450 local chapters. Together, we’re building support for big solutions to climate change.
At CCL, our volunteers do the most important work of our organization. They make meaningful contributions towards our mission every day. As a volunteer, you’ll have the opportunity to put your unique skills to good use to solving climate change. Our lean staff provides you with the tools, training and organization you’ll need to be a successful climate advocate.
